PNG Digital ICT Cluster is a not-for-profit, membership driven association. It is a unique platform for innovation between business and university and the link to public authorities, a strong platform. PNG ICT Cluster is a high-tech innovation cluster, central to it is the exchange of experiences, knowledge, contacts and ideas. It offers more than just business contacts. It represents the excitement to create new things and improve on the status quo, and the openness to lead frank discussions about topics such as the latest technological developments to the inner motivational drivers of employees.
Our Objectives
ICT Cluster memberships are designed to range from Students, Individuals, Academia, Research and NGOs, Businesses such as startups, social enterprise and local tech firms to multinationals, ICT firms and possible high-tech manufacturers as well as leading national corporations, universities, banks and government agencies that work closely with the ICT sector to generate economic growth and social development. Our goal is to stimulate a business environment where technology provides important productivity and economic benefit for PNG.
The primary functions of PNG Digital ICT Cluster are summarized below:
Promote ICT as a source of welfare generation and a cornerstone for sustainable economic and social development.
- To develop a positive image, as an attractive and competitive ICT Cluster in the Pacific.
- Promote Digital and ICT Talent development, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Research & Development excellence.
- Encourage and foster inclusive ICT and Digital Trade and participation.
- Promote new collaborations and attract Direct Foreign Investment.
- To provide a forum through which different segments of the ICT industry and sectors can discuss issues facing their businesses.
- Participate and share information and knowledge in ICT and new emerging trends.
Organise events symposiums, seminars and workshops to promote Digital and ICT entrepreneurship and related innovative projects, products and services.
- Promote Incubator and Accelerator programs and Innovation hubs and Creative spaces for ICT and Digital start-ups.
- Promote Entrepreneurial Education and Knowledge transfer.
